Abstract

This case report evaluates non-surgical management of a patient with class III skeletal pattern with Class I molar and class III incisor relationship. Patient had retrognathic maxilla and normognathic mandible. Clinical and cephalometric evaluation revealed skeletal Class III malocclusion with reverse overjet, congenitally small incisors and a concave facial profile, an average to horizontal growth pattern, incompetent lips, anterior divergent face, reverse overjet. Following fixed orthodontic treatment, addition of torque to maxillary central incisors, retraction of mandibular anterior teeth, mandible was rotated in clockwise and backward direction. Remarkable improvement in patient's smile, facial profile and fullness in upper lip was achieved. Composite build up was done for lateral incisors to achieve Golden Proportion ratio. The profile changes and treatment results were demonstrated with proper case selection. Permanent retention in mandibular arch and Begg’s wrap around retainer was given in maxillary arch.
